Pollença festivals
La Patrona Festival (26 July to 2 August)
Pollença’s ‘Semana Grande’ (Big Week) is one of Mallorca’s most iconic summer festivals, held in honour of the town’s patron saint. It kicks off on 26 July with the traditional firing of the cannon (cannonades) and the ringing of church bells. Over the following days, the town comes alive with cultural activities, live music and family-friendly events. The highlight is the dramatic re-enactment of the battle between Moors and Christians on 2 August, an eagerly awaited spectacle for both locals and visitors.
Pollença Festival
In August 2025, the prestigious Pollença Festival celebrates its 64th edition. This internationally renowned cultural event draws musicians and performers from around the world to stunning venues like the Claustre de Sant Domingo, for unforgettable evenings of classical music.
Seaside Festivals in Port de Pollença
- Sant Pere (Saint Peter, 29 June): Held in honour of the patron saint of fishermen, this festival includes church services, processions, live music and activities with a nautical theme.
- Mare de Déu del Carme (Virgin of Carmen, 16 July): A moving festival in honour of the patron saint of sailors, this is celebrated by a maritime procession which sees the Virgin of Carmen carried through the port, accompanied by beautifully decorated boats and followed by a fireworks display.
Alcúdia Festivals
Sant Pere (Saint Peter, 29 June)
Port d’Alcúdia’s Sant Pere festivities pay tribute to the town’s seafaring roots. The celebration features maritime processions, open-air concerts, street parties (verbenas) and dazzling fireworks. The harbour becomes a hive of activity, with traditional food stalls and entertainment for all the family.
Sant Jaume, patron saint of Alcúdia (25 July)
The festival held in honour of Sant Jaume is the biggest summer celebration in Alcúdia. Spanning several days, the programme includes concerts, children’s shows, sports events, exhibitions and a vibrant verbena (street party with traditional dancing and food). On the main day, 25 July, there’s a solemn mass followed by a grand religious procession. As night falls, fireworks light up the sky above the town’s medieval walls.
