Must-see coves in the north of Mallorca
Mallorca's north has a large number of beautiful coves and beaches that are more than perfect for a refreshing swim in the hot summer months.
The waters that bathe the coves and beaches of Mallorca are a unique turquoise colour thanks to the Posidonia Oceanica, a protected seagrass that, as well as giving the sea its beautiful colour, provides food and protection to more than a thousand species of animals and plants in the Mediterranean.
A refreshing dip in the turquoise waters of Mallorca's coves is a pleasure for the senses and, at Pollentia Rentals, the leading real estate agency in Mallorca, we want to introduce you to some of the most beautiful ones in the north of the island. Don't miss out on them!
Must-see coves in the north of Mallorca during your visit to the island
Although there are many more beautiful coves worth visiting during your trip to the island, Pollentia Rentals has selected some of the most spectacular ones in the north of Mallorca.
To reach Cala Formentor one has to head to the northwest of Mallorca, approximately nine kilometres from Pollensa. This is where you will find this natural paradise surrounded by pine forests and sloping hills, which surprises visitors with its beautiful white sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. Without a doubt, the ideal place for a snorkelling session.
Cala Sant Vicenç
Cala Sant Vicenç is a must-visit for those in search of the most beautiful coves in Mallorca. It is made up of four smaller but highly charming coves, known as Cala Barques, Cala Clara, Cala Molins and Cala Carbó.
This is a 70-metre long beach bounded on the left by a rock wall and offering stunning views of the cliffs in the area. A small jetty remains here, reminding us that Cala Sant Vicenç was once a fishing village.
Travellers looking for small, intimate coves should not miss out on the tiny but beautiful Cala Clara, with its transparent seabed and soft sand, located just seven kilometres from the municipality of Pollensa.
It’s the perfect choice if you want to feel fine white sand under your feet and dive into crystal-clear waters. Cala Molins can also boast of being a blue flag beach, which is a quality certificate awarded to beaches that comply with EU standards regarding the cleanliness of the beach, the purity of the seawater and the safety of the bathing areas.
Cala Carbó is the furthest, the least visited and the least crowded of the four coves. It has hardly any sand but there are large flat rock platforms that allow for maximum relaxation in a setting of breathtaking beauty surrounded by imposing cliffs.
